Mingmar Dolma Sherpa

Mingmar is a World Book of Records–holding trekking guide and accomplished mountaineer, and a proud member of the Base Camp Himalayas family. With over six years of experience leading international groups across the Himalayas, she is widely respected for her leadership, resilience, and commitment to delivering safe and meaningful high-altitude experiences. A graduate of St. Lawrence College, Mingmar is also a passionate advocate for female empowerment in the outdoor industry, working to break barriers and redefine leadership in the mountains.

In 2024, Mingmar successfully led a 110-day expedition across the Great Himalayan Trail (GHT), showcasing the strength, endurance, and leadership capabilities of Nepali women in long-distance trekking. As a licensed lead guide, she has guided clients through all major trekking regions, expertly managing logistics, safety, and emergency response.

Her technical expertise includes advanced ice and rock climbing, mountain rescue, and wilderness first aid, with training from leading institutions such as the Khumbu Climbing Center and the Nepal Mountaineering Instructors Association.

Mingmar also leads women-only expeditions to Mera Peak, Island Peak, and Lobuche East Peak, creating unique opportunities for women to experience high-altitude mountaineering in a supportive environment. In addition, she serves as Secretary of the Trekking Guide Association of Nepal and is recognised for her cultural advocacy, including a World Record achievement for a high-altitude performance at Mera Peak Base Camp.
